With its well-balanced overall concept of colour and form, the newly designed paediatrician’s practice in Hattingen, North Rhine-Westphalia, makes a strong impression. The Düsseldorf office room & ehre deliberately focuses on a theme easily accessible for children. Under the title nature, the colour green is playfully used in a variety of shades. The signage on the walls and the furniture consists of twodimensional butterflies leaving trails of their flights. With these graphic representations, the curiosity and the explorative interest of the little patients are to be aroused, no matter whether they are 2 or 12 years old. The white counter in the entrance area is a first eye-catcher, it stands out dominantly and has something to offer exactly at the children’s eye-level: green silhouettes of plants on the white front of the counter. The shiny green wall behind the counter and the filing cabinet are also decorated with butterfly graphics. The likewise white doors to the treatment rooms have, in addition to large, green numerals, the respective numbers of butterflies so that even those children who cannot read yet can differentiate the rooms. Thanks to the choice of materials, the paediatrician’s practice looks very bright, welcoming and friendly and creates a positive prevailing mood in the young patients. The white-painted walls and the simple white furniture are the ideal background for the green surfaces and decors, as for instance in the waiting zones and the entrance. The dark floor of Luxury Vinyl by Armstrong with walnut-effect forms a contrast, emphasises the interplay and visually lends the room even more warmth. The colour design and the graphic elements on the walls and doors give the practice a high recognition value.
